The ski area
Cervinia is famous for long, wide, cruising runs — some descents from the glacier exceed 10 km. Its high altitude means a long season, and from Plateau Rosa you can ski across the border to Zermatt in Switzerland.
Where to stay
- Breuil-Cervinia — the main resort, right by the lifts.
- Valtournenche — a traditional village lower down the valley, linked to the ski area.
When to go
Thanks to the altitude the season often runs from late October to early May. March and April combine great snow with sunshine.
Getting there
Turin airport is about 2 hours by road and Milan about 2.5 hours. The nearest train station is Châtillon, followed by a bus up the valley.
